From Passion Project to Purpose
What started as committee volunteering with the San Diego Green Building Council turned into a career-defining passion for Ravi. He began as a LEED existing buildings intern, quickly rose to chair an education committee, and credits USGBC’s volunteer community with shaping how he works today.
“Giving back in any way is the best way to human fulfillment.”
Ravi’s advice to anyone considering volunteering? “Do it.” He points to the collaborative environment as a place to grow your career and your community: “It’s likely a future employee or employer is sitting next to you.”

- Driving a trailer to the event location (USGBC-CA will provide a towing vehicle and staff support)
- Speaking at events to educate visitors on sustainable building materials (USGBC-CA will provide a manual with information)
- Helping with the trailer retrofit work

For Her Family, For California's Future
Robyn’s journey began in 2011 at a Green Gala in Rancho Cucamonga, while studying Environmental Science and looking for others who shared her passion for green building. That curiosity turned into deep commitment: she went on to propose and launch the Inland Empire member group, helping bring the green building movement to local communities and families.
“Her dedication stems from her deep care for her family and her desire to ensure a better future for generations to come.”
The birth of her granddaughter deepened her sense of purpose, driving her to advocate for healthier, safer homes for the next generation. Today, Robyn continues that work through community outreach with churches and schools, connecting the dots between sustainable buildings and human health.
