To Our USGBC-LA Community,

First of all, we wish you and your families all the best during this unprecedented moment in modern history. The COVID-19 pandemic is working its way through our social and economic fabric and those impacts will have repercussions for all of us, not only today but in the months ahead. Through it all, your USGBC-LA team is committed to being here for you. This too shall pass and when it does we will still need to confront the ongoing climate crisis. Perhaps this societal pause will help us all reassess our priorities and emerge better organized, more purposeful, and determined to be the change we want to see in the world.

Our collective health remains a priority, we need to be level-headed and pragmatic, planning for the worst but hoping for the best. USGBC-LA will take all the necessary precautions to ensure the health and wellbeing of our community. We will be transitioning any upcoming in-person education, events, and meetings to our digital platforms, or postponing where necessary through the end of April. We are collectively focused on providing a robust digital member experience and invite you to visit our new Talent Portal where you can find a list of upcoming webinars, trainings, and more. Building ourselves to shape the future we want may be one of the best investments we can make right now.

USGBC-LA Staff, our Board, Committees, and Branches will continue working to support our community and our ongoing movement to transform Southern California into a more sustainable region for all. We’ll be working remotely and through virtual meetings to keep delivering on that mission.

In order to best ensure the safety of our community, our 19th Annual Municipal Green Building Conference and Expo has been rescheduled for August 21 and 22nd in DTLA, still at LA Trade Tech College.

All MGBCE abstract, exhibiting, activity, and workshop submissions are now due by midnight, April 30th, 2020!

If you have previously registered for the May dates, your registration will be automatically moved to the August dates.  If you are unable to make the rescheduled Municipal Green date, please reach out to events@usgbc-la.org and we will be happy to refund your purchase.

If you have any questions, a moment of inspiration, or just want to connect with someone during these trying times, please don’t hesitate to reach out to any of us individually or at info@usgbc-la.org.

We are a community, we are a resilient green building family, and we will get through this together. Stay safe, stay healthy, and take care of yourselves and your families. We will see you or hear you soon.

Sincerely,

Ben Stapleton

Executive Director

U.S. Green Building Council – Los Angeles
