Serving San Bernardino and Riverside Counties, the Inland Empire RLAB promotes green building for healthier communities through events like tours, workshops, and sustainability education.
The Inland Empire region covers San Bernardino and Riverside Counties with a collective population of over 4.3 million people and over 1.3 million households. Implementing green building practices is crucial to the IE’s future environmental sustainability, economic success, and quality of life. A unique focus of the RLAB is on the positive impacts that green building can have on public health. We provide a rich and impactful series of events throughout the course of the year, such as green building tours of local sustainable buildings, green business workshops, sustainable education classes for kids, and World Water Day events.
Leadership and Purpose
- Regional Leadership Advisory Boards (RLABs) are made up of passionate leaders who help create and advance sustainable, forward-thinking communities across California.
- Each RLAB focuses on local needs by creating programs or events that support their region. These efforts strengthen community connections, grow local networks, and make a real impact. RLABs build local capacity by developing an initiative (programs or events) that directly benefits members in the region and serves as an active pipeline for community engagement, network development, and impact.
- RLAB members develop ideas and projects that meet local community needs and support USGBC-CA’s mission. They guide and advise on regional advocacy efforts and offer input on state and federal policies. RLAB members are responsible for generating ideas and initiatives that address local community needs while aligning with USGBC-CA’s mission. RLABs will direct and advise on regional advocacy while providing feedback on statewide or federal policy.
