Launch Your Green Career with USGBC-CA’s Green Building Corps
The Green Building Corps is a professional development program that gives young professionals real-world experience in sustainability projects, including climate action planning, energy efficiency, and green building standards. Whether you’re a student, recent grad, or career changer, this is your pathway into a thriving green career.
Location: California-wide (hybrid option in Los Angeles)
Program Dates: Jan–Jun | Jul–Dec
Schedule: Mon–Fri (occasional evenings/weekends)
Commitment: 6 months, 8–10 hours/week
Format: Remote + in-person events
Compensation: Voluntary

What You’ll Learn

California’s sustainability landscape & green building standards

Green building science, resilience, and sustainable practices

Who Should Apply

Residing in California
-
Passionate about sustainability and community resilience
-
Currently enrolled in or have completed a 2- or 4-year degree
-
Comfortable working remotely across the state
-
Familiarity with virtual platforms and software such as Google Suite, Slack, Zoom, Microsoft Office, Canva, Learning Management Systems, and Customer Relationship Management Software.

Spanish proficiency is a plus

Companies can support the GBC program by obtaining allotted hours to assist on projects, back-office work, event support, data entry, and more. All hourly payments go directly to support the GBC participants.
