About this event

Take part in USGBC-LA’s newly launched ESG training in partnership with the Los Angeles Sustainability Executives Roundtable (LASER). This series provides the practical knowledge needed for today’s professionals to integrate ESG into their day-to-day work effectively.

Foundational ESG Curriculum Series

This 6-part training series is intended to support those developing ESG strategies and impactful initiatives. The 90-minute session (3 of 6) led by ESG Specialists Sara Hickman and George Lu, representing both the building and B2B sectors from an ownership perspective will focus on the ESG Toolkit, and allow room for discussion.

Session 3: ESG Toolkit

This session will unveil the all-encompassing 100+ page ESG Toolkit, full of best practices, strategies, preferred partners, and specific examples of how to develop and implement an ESG Strategy. Presenters will speak to specific areas including but not limited to decarbonization, climate risk assessments, human capital education, stakeholder engagement, and the development of an ESG policy.

Meet the Presenters

Sara Hickman, ESG Director, Leading Edge

ESG Professional Series - Session 1: ESG Foundations image

Sara leads the team’s business strategy, operations, new construction consulting arm and ESG strategic services. With a background in architectural design and sustainability in existing assets, she speaks both languages, supporting a holistic, full scope approach. She is passionate about ESG education, leading the team internally to fully integrated strategies through a real-world applications, making the necessary connection between corporate initiatives and asset level impact.

Sara holds a Degree in Architecture and proudly serves on the USGBC-Los Angeles Chapter’s Board of Directors.

George manages ADEC ESG Solutions’ technical teams, bringing together experts from around the world to guide our clients through their ESG journey to help them operate more sustainably. With more than 17 years of experience working with clients on air quality, greenhouse gas (GHG), environmental planning, and corporate ESG strategy development, George works with clients across all industries and sizes on data management improvements, ESG reporting, and corporate sustainability strategy.
