Kit Switch

Kit Switch is a woman-and-minority-owned small business on a mission to create an end-to-end solution for housing providers to leverage existing buildings toward the creation of quality, sustainable homes. We deliver kits from our library of ready-to-install interiors for tenant improvement, retrofit, and conversion projects. In 2023, we started manufacturing and commercializing our first product line, the Kit-Kitchen, on small affordable housing projects in the Bay Area, including a multifamily building gut-rehab and a garage ADU conversion. With this product, cooking amenities can be installed or reconfigured on-site in <1 day with improved turnaround, predictability, and sustainability. These small pilots are the first ones of a pipeline of projects we are tracking with the support of the National Renewable Energy Lab.

At Kit Switch, we envision a future where our urban environments can achieve greater circularity, resiliency, and better meet the needs of our communities through easily deployable and reconfigurable building interiors. We have the support of many partners including the Wells Fargo Innovation Incubator, the Autodesk Research Outsight Network, USGBC-LA’s Net Zero Accelerator, the Los Angeles Cleantech Incubator, the Larta Institute, and the Housing Lab at UC Berkeley’s Terner Center. With you onboard, we plan to deploy new kits on larger conversion projects in early 2024, including bathroom kits, storage and bed systems, and more!

Salary + Benefits: $50,000-$70,000, Medical/Dental/Vision, Paid Holidays
Type: Hybrid or On-Site per preference. 3-5 days in office, flexible days and working hours.
Location: San Francisco, CA, Occasional In-State Travel
